Framework for Sustainable Dublin

Guiding Dublin's progress towards a sustainable society

To make sure that the Development Plan reduces the city's eco-footprint and addresses the key factors of climate change, a specific process known as the Framework for Sustainable Dublin (FSD) will be used.

The FSD is a planning system that helps prioritise actions and connect short-term measures to the long-term vision of a sustainable society. It is based on best international practice and is tailored specifically to the needs of Dublin City.

It places sustainability and quality of life as the over-arching philosophies that inform all the policies and objectives of the Development Plan. It also prioritises the need for collective support and a partnership approach to successfully achieve the 2030 Vision.
